There are lots of great specialty breweries in Wisconsin and across this nation. Our specialty and passion? Very drinkable, German-style, American lagers. Since 1984, Capital Brewery has garnered many national and international awards. At the Beverage Testing Institute's World Beer Championships (BTIWBC) our Blonde earned "Platinum" award status three times in the past eight years. In 1998, BTIWBC rated our Brewery #1 in the U.S. — and #7 in the world. Awards are nice. But winning the hearts of discriminating lager fans around Madison, WI and beyond is the best award of all.

In addition to our doppelbocks (Blonde and Autumnal Fire), we produce eight annuals, four seasonals, and up to four limited releases every year. But anytime our brewmaster (Kirby Nelson) enters his laboratory, there's always the potential for complete surprise. Next time you’re near Middleton WI, stop by. In summertime, just follow the sounds of "live" music or laughter rising from our outdoor Bier Garten.
